This is such a shame – the “Aviary” stamp set with the little birds and the cages is retiring. I love this set! Though to be honest I have not used it anywhere near as much as I should have done… and now it’s leaving us.
This card was one that I received as a swap at one of the Stampin’ Up! training events (but I forget which one!). It uses the Top Note Sizzix Die as well as the Decorative Label Punch to create the background and highlight the featured image. The little owl is cut out with one of the many circle punches (I think this is the 1″ Circle) after being stamped in So Saffron. The colours are So Saffron, Pool Party, and Whisper White, with some Basic Pearls and Organza Ribbon to accessorise. I love how the background piece has been run through the Big Shot using the polka dots embossing folder to give it a little more interest than just plain card. And there’s also the little heart on there, which was either cut with the (now retired) Heart to Heart Extra-Large punch, or the current Heart Small punch, I’m not sure which.
I hope you liked this card, and I will be back tomorrow with a bonus Friday post to show you another one!
According to the promotions page on the Stampin’ Up! website, the Aviary stamp set is still available in both wood and clear mount, so if you want it you might be able to get it. You will need to be quick, though, as all of these stamps will be disappearing at the end of the month… which is only a few days away! Contact me to place your order today.
