Morning! Today I have a birthday shaker card for you using the new SaleABration Best Day Ever designer series papers.
Background: last weekend we had two birthday parties for girls in our lives – one 3rd birthday and one surprise 30th birthday. Having come up with the design for this card, I figured that it was actually just as appropriate for either of the girls, so I made them one each!
Image taken with the card flat, to show the sequins in the shaker:

I’m not sure if you can tell in these photos, but the shaker was actually double-sided and made a window through the front of the card. The sentiment was then stamped inside the card, and viewed through the window!
The 4″ square card base was made with Shimmer Cardstock, the hole was punched with the 1-3/8″ Circle Large punch (though I probably could have got away with a bigger one and still fit into the shaker frame), and the paper is from the Best Day Ever DSP pack available with a £45 order during SaleABration. The shaker itself is done the easy way, using the adhesive dimensional shaker frames on page 205 of the annual catalogue. (Just don’t do what I did and stick them to the packet for safekeeping while you work out where to stick them – they don’t come off again!!!) And the rest of the paper panel is stuck down with dimensionals – they are a little less deep than the shaker frames, so just don’t put them too close and it will not really notice.
I didn’t get any feedback from the recipients, but I do hope they liked their cards. They were made with them in mind, and made with love 🙂
The sequins and beads used to fill the shakers were from my general crafty stash, and are not Stampin’ Up, but the colours and size work really well, I think. All the other items are SU, and the stamped sentiment is from the What’s Up stamp set, which is great for cards or scrapbooking. I have it stored with my Project Life stamps, as I think that’s where it fits in best to my “collection”!
I am currently loving acetate, so expect to see something with that at some point. I have made a few of my own photo overlays for my PL albums (but the first batch didn’t come out all that well as I used the wrong ink, so once I have sorted that out I will be sharing those with you). I also have some plans for cards using this great medium, so once those have come to fruition I am sure you will see them here.
Back tomorrow with another card project using some of the new SaleABration freebies.
