Wow, what an exciting month! The colour revamp products are live to Demonstrators to pre-order and produce wonderful projects to share with our customers, and the Share What You Love bundles are live to customers.
Firstly to the Colour Revamp. There are four main colour families within the Stampin’ Up! offering, and each family consists of 10 colours. Every few years, these are “shaken up” in a colour revamp to freshen and revamp the offerings and make them as on-trend and relevant as possible. The 5 In Colours introduced each year are the most “In” colours for the year (hence the name!!) and often include the Pantone colour of the year or similar hues. But every now and again the core collection needs a refresh, and that is what is happening with this colour revamp.
The last time this happened was in 2013, and this is even more of a shake-up than happened that time. The structure of the colour families has also been updated this year, with the colours of Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla being taken out of the colour families groupings and made into their own little group, known as “Basics”. ‘Cos you use these all the time, and they are considered to be part of your basic tool kit!
And then we have had some colours introduced to the Neutrals colour family, in addition to the greys and browns found there up to now. Let’s have a look at the new colour selections available, shall we?
If you are familiar with the Stampin’ Up! colour families, you will notice that some of the colours have once again switched their family allegiances, depending on how they sit with the new colours. For example, Real Red is no longer a part of the Brights collection, but has shifted along into the Regals family. This is due to the return of Poppy Parade, which is an incredibly bright red which was a previous In Colour. Poppy Parade has been brought back as part of the colour refresh as part of the core colour collection, and as such is has “ousted” Real Red as a Bright! There are a few other examples of this, but I am sure that you will agree that the colour families look very balanced and happy as a result of the shake-up.
We have also “lost” most of our previous purple tones, but with the return of Blackberry Bliss, and the introduction of two new shades of purple, I think we are adequately covered on that front. We have a wide array of greens to choose from, we once again have a “baby” blue in the mix, and I have to say that in my opinion, Soft Sea Foam is the most wonderful baby-neutral green!
I am currently pondering my colour purchases through the pre-order offerings, and am looking forwards to getting to know these new colours better. For those of you who have to have “all the colours”, you will be pleased to know that as a result of the colour revamp there are bundles available which include all of the new (and returning) colour ink pads, and also the revamp marker colours. And the marker pack also includes a replacement insert for your Many Marvelous Markers case with the colours arranged into the new colour family groups for you (note – this is the indicated layout only – it won’t actually rearrange your pens for you! More’s the pity!).
I hope that you like the new colour collection, and I look forwards to sharing it with you at the launch of the new catalogue!
Finally, if you were inspired by last week’s posts about the Share What You Love bundle, then I have good news – this is now available for orders! There are 3 levels of bundle available to you – and each one comes with an increasing amount of freebies for you! Don’t forget that if you wanted the Statement of My Heart stamp, then this is only available (and as far as I know, will only ever be available) as part of the “Gotta Have It All” top-level bundle. These bundles are available until May 31st, so if you want that stamp, then don’t hang about or you might miss your chance to get it.
Here’s one last look at the new colours we are getting as part of the colour revamp and the new In Colours release – I can see those gears turning already as to how you are going to use them in your projects! Be aware that the new In Colours are also available as part of the Share What You Love release, so you can get those to play with now. Enjoy!!
