My first ever workshops are complete! Over two weekends in February, I held two Stampin’ Up! workshops, and invited people to my house to come along and try out stamping, and the Stampin’ Up! products for themselves.
Overall, we had 5 attendees, including one all the way from Cardiff! Most people were local, or relatively so, coming from Basingstoke and Reading. We followed the general workshop format, including a make and take project for everyone to get crafty, as well as a demonstration of other products that are available to buy. And there was, of course, tea and cake for all, as well as a chance to ask any questions, buy catalogues, and place orders!
The make and take project can be seen below, and full details can be found in the Projects section of the website. It uses the Sweet Summer and So Happy for You Sale.A.Bration stamp sets, so anyone who wants those had better be quick, as they are only available until Monday 28 February 2011. We also used the Tiny Tags stamp set, and the Jewellery Tag and Scalloped Square punches. Most of the attendees opted to use the Curly Label punch for their greeting instead. The green strip on the front of the card is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack. The colours of card, ink and markers used were Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron. I’m loving that colour combination, and I think that the Subtles colour family works so well with the Sweet Summer stamps.
We got everyone to pose with their finished projects, and don’t they look pleased with their creations? Everyone involved had a good time, and the social aspect of these events is great. I will be planning more events like these in the future – keep an eye on the website for more details.
