Friend card with border stamps

As yesterday’s post was about Telford, how about I finally share the last project of the day with you?

friend_borders

This was the first chance that we as Demonstrators had got to play with the new photopolymer stamps, ahead of their release in the new Annual Catalogue this month. This card used one of the border sets (though I cannot currently remember what it is called!) and one of the new alphabets. Have you noticed that this year all of our alphabet sets are in photopolymer? That’s to make it as easy as possible for you to create your words, names and sentiments, and get them easily lined up on your projects. They are great!

This card uses two of the border stamps from the set, the triangles at the base of the card, and the dots at the top. Were you wondering how I got them all so artistically scattered, and the triangles so neatly aligned? The truth is that I didn’t, the stamps did it for me!

The other new product we got to use here was the heart border punch, which is very cute. I think these little hearts would be brilliant punched into the edges of your Project Life cards… watch this space!

Especially as this was an official Stampin’ Up! event, we couldn’t not decorate the envelope, could we?

And I even re-stamped the “Friend” sentiment onto the flap of the envelope:

I am finding at the moment that when I am decorating the envelopes for my cards, I am either stamping just the flap, or the front and the flap! I wonder why. Maybe because then people are guaranteed to see the decoration, when they go to open the card? Either way, it is my current preference and it is generally a sub-concious choice!

I hope you have enjoyed this final training project share, and I will be back soon (hopefully Tuesday) with more. I will try to get my Project Life pages photographed this weekendfor sharing, and will definitely photograph the box I made on Tuesday for the wedding present we are giving to Nick and Katie this weekend 🙂 I will endeavour to share that project with you next week, all being well. Have a great weekend!

About Katie

Katie has been crafting for most of her life, but has been an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator since April 2010. Her favourite techniques are rubber stamping, heat embossing and 3D decoupage, mainly applied in card making, but she's also an avid memory keeper! She loves the pocket scrapbooking style as it is quick and easy, and makes memory keeping much more achievable for her than the "traditional" option. She would love to share this with you if you are intrigued!
