As promised yesterday, today I am sharing with you the Mother’s Day cards I made for my Mum and my Mother-in-Law.
Firstly, here’s the card I made for Mum:
And the similar-but-different card for my Mother-in-Law:
See, similar-but-different!
I made a number of tese backgrounds using the Flower Patch stamp set. It was quite good fun choosing various light and dark shades of different colours to layer up these two-step-stamping flowers and working out a number of colour schemes! I then mounted the backgrounds onto card bases, and stamped and punched loads of different sentiments to add to the cards. I have not stuck the sentiments down, though, to allow people at work to customise their card choices when they buy them from me (or when I use them for my own needs!). I sold a few for Mother’s Day, one for a birthday, and I have some sitting in my basket of cards, ready for when they may be needed. I was really pleased with how they came out. If you’d like to make cards like these, they are pretty ink-heavy in terms of needing a number of similar colours, but other than that you just need a trimmer, glue (or tape) and cardstock! If you want to add the sentiments in the way that I have, then you’d also need two oval punches and the sentiment set, but there are lots of other ways to add a greeting without those supplies.
Do leave me a comment and let me know what you think of these cards. I do enjoy reading any comments I receive.
Have a great weekend, and I will be back on Tuesday with a very special birthday card which I made on Tuesday. Simple, yet massively effective, and hopefully it wil go down well with the recipient on Monday!
