Hello, flower

Hello, flower.

How are you today? I have a non-Christmas and dare I say it, summery feeling card for you today:

hello_flower

This is another swap card from training in October, and it is nice to have a sunshiney card from what is primarily a time for Hallowe’en and Christmassy cards. I’m not 100% sure how the card was created, it being a swap and all, but the list of items used as stuck on the back of this one says “Clear Mount Cling Foam and Stamp Waste”, which indicates that the background pattern of triangles and geometric shapes was created using the offcuts of the rubber from which the stamps are made! Clever use of what is usually rubbish, eh?

The ingredients list for this card is shown below in the resources section, so I won’t bother to spell it all out for you. If there is anything you are unsure about then please do leave me a comment or contact me directly and I will do my best to answer any queries! If all else fails, we could email the person who made the card, but I don’t expect it to come to that.

I love the fade effect on the background of this card, from using the different colours across it, and the Dictionary background adds depth and grounding to the overall effect. These background stamps are massive, and very very versatile. Why not give one a go today, we have loads for you to choose from?

And I would definitely recommend the use of a stampamajig to line up the blossoms on the two-step flower stamp. It is possible to do this freehand, especially with this stamp set, but you’ll use a stampamajig for so many things once you get the hang of it (and that takes literally seconds) that it will pay for itself in no time! Why not treat yourself to a few bits before Sale.A.Bration ends? You have less than 3 weeks left to earn those exclusive freebies – and when they are gone they may well be gone forever. Don’t regret not getting your favourites!

About Katie

Katie has been crafting for most of her life, but has been an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator since April 2010. Her favourite techniques are rubber stamping, heat embossing and 3D decoupage, mainly applied in card making, but she's also an avid memory keeper! She loves the pocket scrapbooking style as it is quick and easy, and makes memory keeping much more achievable for her than the "traditional" option. She would love to share this with you if you are intrigued!
