Hello, Sunshine

Hello, Sunshine!

Well, unlike yesterday, today is sunny so far. Let’s hope it stays that way. I’m already fed up of the torrential downpours we keep having!

Today I have a very sunshiney card to share with you, which was one of the swaps I received at the event in Telford this weekend. It uses the Hello You Thinlits and the Confetti Stars Border punch:

The block-text Sunshine is from the Crazy About You stamp set which coordinates with the thinlits set. Fantastic.

From what I can gather from the “ingredients” list for the project, the words were coloured using sponge daubers, which as a brilliant little tool. The word and some of the stars were highlighted using Crystal Effects, which is a 3D glaze and is very effective. I really need to get mine out and use it!

This swap was made by Amanda Burditt of pandacream-creations. I was hoping she’d shared some more details about her swaps on the blog, but sadly it has not been updated since December. Ah well, it’s not a hugely difficult concept to copy if you like the idea!

As you can see, the border punch was not used to create a border in this instance, but used the “confetti” part of the name to use the “waste” if you are punching borders, or the aim if you are creating confetti! Love that the punch basically has two uses.

Talking of Telford (which I was earlier), would you like to see a tiny snapshot of the room that the 350 Demonstrators were hanging out in all day? Yes? I thought so! Here it is:

The lovely lady front-and-centre is Karen, who comes from Milton Keynes and is the sister of one of the guys I went to school with! She also knows my “little” brother through his various social exploits. Small world, eh?! I love the social side of Stampin’ Up! events, as we get to meet new people and socialise with “old” friends. But let me tell you, 350 Demonstrators is an *awful lot* of people, and you’d never be able to socialise with all of them… especially not during 1 single-day event!

And finally for today, there are the new Weekly Deals:

Some of these deal items are carryng forwards into the new catalogue and some are retiring on the 2nd of June, but they are all good deals. Both dies are carrying forwards, so if they appeal then get your hands on them this week and save yourself some cash! You can order online or through me, so if you want to get your hands on some goodies then go for it and treat yourself.

Hello, Sunshine, let’s hope you stay for a while 🙂

About Katie

Katie has been crafting for most of her life, but has been an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator since April 2010. Her favourite techniques are rubber stamping, heat embossing and 3D decoupage, mainly applied in card making, but she's also an avid memory keeper! She loves the pocket scrapbooking style as it is quick and easy, and makes memory keeping much more achievable for her than the "traditional" option. She would love to share this with you if you are intrigued!
