Land ahoy!

Well, I am currently off on my holidays, and hopefully having a relaxing time. But if all goes to plan, you will still have some new posts and inspiration to keep you going while I am away as I have scheduled some treats to share with you.

This first card was made for one of the guys I work with. We have no clue what he is in to, as he keeps very much to himself, but we still wanted to give him a card on his birthday. So this was the end result:

nautical_birthday

Nicely masculine, but not full of alcohol or sports imagery (which we did not think would appeal given what we *do* know about our colleague).

The ledger was stamped in Crumb Cake onto Naturals Ivory cardstock to give a nice subdued background, and then the ship and compass were stamped along with a simple sentiment in Soft Suede to make them stand out more. I was pleased with the effect, and hope that the recipient liked it.

More to come later in the week!

About Katie

Katie has been crafting for most of her life, but has been an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator since April 2010. Her favourite techniques are rubber stamping, heat embossing and 3D decoupage, mainly applied in card making, but she's also an avid memory keeper! She loves the pocket scrapbooking style as it is quick and easy, and makes memory keeping much more achievable for her than the "traditional" option. She would love to share this with you if you are intrigued!
