Today I have another card to go with more exciting news!
My little brother proposed to his girlfriend on their trip to the Lake District over the New Year, and she said Yes 🙂 So I couldn’t not send them a Congratulations card, could I!
This card is also a bit of a sneak peek of a stamp set which is coming in the new Seasonal catalogue at the end of the month called “Language of Love”. I adore the multi-lingual heart stamp (which coordinates with the Full Heart punch from the main catalogue). I thought it was detailed and elegant enough that it deserved to be the feature point on a clean and simple card, so I just stamped it directly onto Naturals Ivory cardstock in Cherry Cobbler ink, and I love how it came out. I then stamped the “Congratulations” and “on your engagement” stamps from the Love & Laughter stamp set in Cherry Cobbler, having arranged both stamps onto a clear block together first. This was much easier than trying to line them up on the card separately.
I am really pleased with this card – it proves to me that I don’t have to be all fancy and have loads of colours and layers and “fluff” to create a really nice card! It also has no embellishments to add depth or to get damaged when I send it through the post to them. Just by changing the sentiment used, this card could also be used for a whole raft of other occasions to send to anyone you love or who is in love! I hope that Tim and Tash like it too. Who knows, maybe it will give them some ideas for their wedding stationery… which I have offered to help them with, should they so desire. I hope they enjoy all the planning that goes with a wedding – it is both very exciting and slightly stressful at the same time!
