Further to the Telford interlocking gatefold mini swaps, here is another interlocking gatefold card for you. This one is a 6×6″ square card and was made for my Mum for her birthday. I used the Window Frames Collection framelits dies to create the interlock this time, and turned one through 45° to get the effect I wanted. This was cut from Primrose Petals core’dinations cardstock. I embellished it using the Butterflies embosslit with Pool Party core’dinations card, and sanded back the embossed areas slightly. I also used the Mixed Bunch stamps and coordinating Blossom punch for the focal image. This is how it looks when slightly open:
The base card is made from the Natural Composition Speciality Designer Series Papers, which is nothing like the paper-weight indicated by the name! It is really heavy-duty cardstock, has a heat-embossed effect pattern on each sheet, and they are all different. There are florals, music, woodgrain, and many more. You get 12 sheets in the pack, and they are totally luxurious. I would definitely recommend them, especially if you cannot create the heat-embossed look for yourself yet.
I really like this style of card at the moment – it is so easy, and quick, yet looks really complicated and time-consuming! And people don’t have to work out how to display it like they do with an easel card. I love those, too, but people have to have seen them “working” before you can send them one, I think.
So, that’s about all I have to say on this one, but I will be back with another card for you tomorrow! Don’t forget, any time you see anything that catches your eye, then please do leave a comment below, or contact me to have a chat or place an order.
