So, I shared with you one of the cards that I made for my Mum for her birthday, here, but didn’t share the other one from the twins. So here it is. In this second picture you can better see the outline of the masked area. I cut a shape with the Window Frames Collection framelits and used it to mask off an area of the base card. I then spritzed over the card with the Gold Glow Smooch spritz (which is retiring at the end of this month) to give a shimmery frame to my image.
The image itself is a single stamp of the balloons from the Patterned Party set, and the sentiment above is from the Wacky Wishes hostess set. Both of these sets are also retiring at the end of the month, so if you want them then you need to be quick! The stamps were inked using the In Colours markers to give a multi-coloured image, and then you breathe on the stamp just before you put it to the card to ensure there is enough moisture in the ink to adhere.
I love stamping using markers, as it gives a multicoloured effect to your stamping without the added skill of colouring the images. I definitely prefer colouring embossed images to ones that are just stamped – I have a horrible habit of missing or blurring the lines otherwise! But some people love colouring and that is why it is great to have the option. The Stampin’ Up! markers have a brush end and a pen tip, so that you can use them for colouring, journalling, stamping and writing, and all in the exact Stampin’ Up! colour shades. You gotta love that.
My aim is to share more ideas with you over the next few days of ideas using retiring products so that you have lots of things to keep you busy until the new catalogue arrives. As well as some sneak peeks if my new goodies arrive in time. Enjoy!
