Pennant Parade Birthday Card with Sassy Salutations

It was my Dad’s birthday on Saturday, so here is the card I made for him:

pennant_birthday

I hope he liked it. I used Cherry Cobbler ink and cardstock along with Whisper White cardstock, the Pennant Parade stamp set and coordinating punch, as well as the “flower” from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. The background squares were cut with the 1-3/8″ Square Extra-Large and 1-1/4″ Square Large in Whisper White and Basic Black, and a Basic Rhinestone was popped onto each flower hat “bobble” to add a bit of sparkle. The sentiment stamp is from Sassy Salutations which I bought when it was on offer and have used loads since! Another set which you will frequently see used on my Christmas cards is another one from that offer; Sweet Essentials. I just love the fonts on these sets!

I don’t think I need to go through the “how-to” on this card as it is pretty self-explanatory. The party hats are popped up on a Stampin Dimensional each to give them that extra bit of focus, and everything else is stuck together with Snail. But if you do have any questions, then don’t hesitate to ask and I will try to answer as best I can!

The stamped image from the Pennant Parade set is almost exactly the same size as the punch, so it is really easy to get this effect for your cards, and nice and quick to produce lots of them. This would make a great batch card for party invitations or similar, as it doesn’t take long to create the bits, and you could punch a lot in one go, and then just stick them together. And they are lovely and flat to post.

I wrote the card, the twins signed it, and their Grandad was very touched by their efforts 🙂

On the subject of the twins, Smudge ate a great breakfast which makes me less worried about her today. Smidge was quite hot when I got him up, and very sad and sorry-looking so I felt bad for having to leave him, but he has his Daddy and I’m sure that Smudge will help to look after him as she seems to be very much inclined that way. She is very good at rubbing his arm, back or leg when he is feeling bad, and often rubs his back for him when he is stood in the kitchen taking his medicine! Bless her. I am just hoping for a healthy weekend for all of us.

If I get a chance to post photos tonight, I will share my Convention swaps with you tomorrow, but if life does the usual thing of being crazy busy tonight, then I will share them with you after the weekend sometime. Have a great weekend, and if possible please keep your fingers crossed that I get to fully experience and enjoy Convention without worrying about my babies too much!

About Katie

Katie has been crafting for most of her life, but has been an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator since April 2010. Her favourite techniques are rubber stamping, heat embossing and 3D decoupage, mainly applied in card making, but she's also an avid memory keeper! She loves the pocket scrapbooking style as it is quick and easy, and makes memory keeping much more achievable for her than the "traditional" option. She would love to share this with you if you are intrigued!
