So today I thought I would share another Project Life page with you – but to mix it up a little, this one is from our holiday. We went to Spain with my parents at the beginning of June (flew out 30 May, back on 10 June) and had a lovely time. The twins adored the beach this year!
To tie this in to sharing with the wedding page I shared on Thursday, and the ones I have upcoming for you, this page uses a card from the Love Story Project Life card pack. See if you can spot it:
Apologies for the “solar flare” from the flash, it was dark out when I was taking these photos and I couldn’t manage to get this shot without the flash reflection on the page protector! And I thought it best to have an imperfect image to share than no image – I hope you agree. If you want to see the page without the flare, you just have to come visit me and you can see the whole scrapbook 😉
So, did you spot the Love Story card? Yep, it’s the one that says “Cheers!” I thought it worked well with the cards I already had, and as the “missing” story was the one to go with the picture of our lunch, it seemed too good to miss! I love the Love story cards as they are all backs, whites and greys, so there is little chance of them clashing with the colour schemes in your photos. If you had a page using black and white photos they would combine to make a seriously striking display! They toned well with our wedding photos, but sit just as happily amongst the bright colours of our summer holiday. I wrote the journalling on this particular card in silver pen, to maintain the muted tones, but any pen pretty much works with these cards.
In case you’re wondering, as I know I do, the main journalling on the page is about how sometimes I wonder why we take the buggies places, now that the twins walk a lot and get antsy sitting in the buggy if they have a chance to walk. And then we go out for the day, and they get tired and fall asleep in the buggy and I know exactly why we have them – there’s no way we could carry them for as long as they were asleep that day. Even if we could, we’d have both ended up all sticky and sweaty from the heat, and the sleep they got would have been very disturbed! It’s days like that which bring it home that while they seem very grown up with their eating and walking and interacting, they are still very little and there’s no way they could have walked half as far as we did that day! Even if they could have struggled through, it would definitely not be fair on them. This way, everyone was happy. (Especially the twins, as they got to go on a bus!) And in the afternoon, we sat on the balcony and they played with the stickers that Nanny had bought for them in Poundland as a holiday treat. There were loads of stickers and a little book, which kept them occupied for ages. They do love their stickers!
So that is one of the *many* pages I made from our holiday. I had the journalling mainly completed when we got home, due to writing the cards in the evening once the twins were in bed, which made it much easier to complete the pages. I can definitely recommend this way of memory keeping, I love it! Expect to see lots more pages around here – once I get them created and uploaded. (They might not all be SU cards, but I will try to share as many of those as I can!) Don’t forget that you can also buy the cards digitally, so you can have as many of each design as you want. There are *always* cards you don’t want to use because they are “too nice” – well, no more, as you can print some to keep and tons to use 🙂 Enjoy!
