As my post from yesterday teased you about my scrapbook which I am going to get done for our holiday once the photo prints arrive, I thought that today would be a good chance to share a page I made about a picnic we had in the garden:
Again, this page was quick and easy to put together, and I love how the Project Life system allows me to scrapbook and record the memories about the everyday things we do with our twins, even while they are still young and relatively demanding on our time and attention. It is nothing compared to when we got them home from hospital, but it is still pretty intense; some days more than others. But it is great to capture the things that matter now – even in a few months a picnic in the garden will not be quite the same experience as it is now (especially if the weather turns again!) so it is great to be able to make and “properly” record these memories now.
For years I have taken photographs and kept items thinking “I will scrapbook this sometime”, but sometime rarely comes. But now that all I have to do is write the cards and get prints of the photos I have taken, sometime is happening a lot more regularly. I am not perfect by any means, and I still have photos from Easter which I got printed but have not yet completed the pages for, but it is a lot better than it was. After all, we are spending a lot of time making memories in the sunshine, and getting on with “normal life” so I cannot spend all my time scrapbooking (much as I might wish sometimes that I could!).
I am very excited this week, as when I get home from my training course (for work), I have a big box of goodies which our friendly UPS man delivered while I was on a train to Derby on Monday. Just too late for me to open it before I left, but that is probably a good thing as I might have got carried away in opening that and not actually made it onto my train!! But in the box, amongst other things, are a Project Life stamp set and accessory kits so I will really be able to embellish my holiday scrapbook pages! I think what I will do is to get the basic pages put together and *then* go back and embellish them up – or I might not get past the first page or two before it is time for bed. 😉
If I remember to do so, I will take photos of “before” and “after” embellishing my pages, so that you can easily see that you don’t need all the #PLxSU Project Life goodies to make your pages great, but that if you add just a few into the mix, how much difference they can make. And the best bit is that they are oh so very affordable, especially when you realise how much you get in each pack, so a little spend can go a very long way.
Right, off to read my training manual and user guide to I can make the most of the last bit of training (this post is scheduled, so when it posts I ought to be working hard in a training room!), and I will be back next week with some lovely card projects and a 3D bag which we made at the Telford training day with new catalogue products. Have a great weekend!
