I love Snowmen. Real ones, pictures of ones, cute ones, melty ones – just snowmen in general!
So today I have a bunch of snowmen to share with you, though you might not immediately recognise them as such:
Hahahaha! I love these poor, melty snowmen! But it took a while to find an appropriate sentiment!
I cannot take credit for these clever cuties, I saw the idea on one of the Swaps boards in Brussels and was captivated. The best bit is that they are *really* easy to make! And use supplies which I already had.
To make the melty snowman it is the cloud/ ice cream image from Sprinkles of Life, stamped in Smoky Slate or similar. I actually heat-embossed my snowmen with silver embossing powder because I love the effect and I’d not done any embossing for a while. The embossing gives the snowmen another layer of texture, which is always good. The hat is made from the 1â³ Square and Word Window Large punches using Basic Black cardstock. His nose is the raindrop from the Tree Builder punch, cut from Pumpkin Pie. His arms also come from the tree builder, and are the tree trunks cut down – they are Soft Suede.
Obviously, the body of the snowman (cloud!) was punched out with the tree builder punch as well – I do not do well with fussy cutting, hence the reason why I have *so* many punches and dies! They are fabulous, especially when you want to make a lot of something. He was stuck together using Tombow liquid adhesive and I added some teeny tiny googly eyes from my stash to just finish him off.
The sentiment on the cards came from the Happy Scenes stamp set, which coordinates with the Window framelits. The framelits are carrying forwards to the next catalogue, but the stamps are not, so if you want them you had best be quick becasue they are now on a while-stocks-last basis. There are some lovely bits in the set, and I have seen tons of inspiration online using the set, so I can highly recommend it!
I also stamped the sentiment onto the back flap of the envelope to finish it off.
I made 10 of these cards:
It was a lovely way to spend a Sunday evening! And I’ve even sold a few of these snowmen cards at work, which is fab. I have not sold tons of cards, but as my aim this year was to have at least some cards for sale, I have met that goal and I am proud of that! I am going to “up” that goal this year, and plan on making more cards throughout the year in order to have a good stock ready for November 2016 to capitalise on the opportunity. I also need to get my flyers sorted, finally, and get my “advertising” sorted out!
In the meantime, don’t forget about the Year End sale, while remembering that SaleABration starts on January 5th. So save some pennies for that…
Enjoy my snowmen, and click onto the online shop to stock up on the required products if you fancy making sme melty snowmen of your own! (For scale, these guys are on cards which are just under 4″ square. So they are only little.) Have a great day!
