I hope that you enjoyed yesterday’s offering, because today’s is very similar! It uses the Something for Baby stamp set again…
We had two of our Process Engineers at work give birth within a couple of days of each other, so I ideally needed two cards in a short space of time. So when you’re making one card, you make the other at the same time, right? Well, I did, anyway. This card uses the same colour base and stamps as yesterday, but swap out the card colour and the accent on the back, and this is what you get.
And the other side looks like this when laid flat:
As I posted this through the recipient’s front door, and have not seen her since, I don’t know what her reaction to the card was, but I do hope that she and the family liked it 🙂
I love the sweet sentiment from Petite Pairs! I think it is perfect for a new baby card, but there are loads of other occasions you could use the two parts for as well. Like a good luck or congratulations card for a thespian, a wedding card for a lovely pair of people, a happy birthday, or just a card for a friend.
I am writing this on the iPad while sitting in a hotel room, so I hope it works okay – it must have done if you are actually reading this! I will post another idea tomorrow, and then when I get home I ought to have 147 photos waiting for me so that I can put together my scrapbook pages from our holiday. As I took approximately 1400 photographs and videos on my digital camera while away, it took me a while to sort out what I was printing! But I worked out my pages and sent the images to print on Sunday before the cheap prints offer expired – that alone saved me £6! But thank goodness for Project Life is all I can say, otherwise there is very little chance I would get these pages done with all that is currently happening in my life. At least by knowing the page layouts I had, I could easily see how many cards and photos I needed for each layout, and quickly choose which images I wanted to use. It still took most of the day to choose and crop them, in between child care, housework and cooking, etc. but I got there and the prints are being posted now. As I wrote the cards while I was actually on holiday, the difficult bit is done and all I will have to do when my photos arrive is to choose which pocket each one is going in and slide them in. It will be a fun evening, but hopefully require no longer than that! I probably have 20 or so pages, so that will be a successful bit of work when it is done.
I will share the pages with you when they are complete and I have uploaded some photos. In the meantime, if you are heading out and about either on holiday or just for the day, then plan your Project Life scrapbook pages while you are shooting the photos, I promise it will make the recording of your memories so much quicker and easier! And don’t forget to write the cards for your layouts as soon as you can after the event, to truly capture the story and the essence of emotion and feelings behind it. It makes it that much more potent when you revisit the pages later, believe me!
Have a great day, and be sure to pop back tomorrow to see what I have to share next. In the meantime, I will leave you with the two new baby cards side by side, so you can see how they both looked.
