Good morning! As promised, I am back with a group of Stampin’ Stars for a fun blog hop to celebrate the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue 2016-17. I hope that you enjoy what I have to share, and that you head on over and check out what the other Stars have been up to with their lovely pre-order goodies!
You may have come here from Cat Herrington over at Wiggle Craft, or you may have graced me with your presence to start with. Either way, at the bottom of this post there’s a list of all the participants in the hop so you can take a bounce around the group and see what you can find!
So I have been busy making a couple of handfuls of cards for you, along two lines. Would you like to see them? Here’s the first set:
Do you like them? I hope so! They are my first “collection” for this blog hop, and were inspired by one of the other Stars, Sarah Mcdermott, so thanks for the inspiration sweetie!
I used the slice through the Designer Series Papers to provide the focus for the sentiments from the Love & Affection and Pop of Paradise stamp sets, as well as the birthday banner from Time of Year. The little cupcake comes from the Every Occasion stamp set which I was fortunate to have won at OnStage Live in Utah. The event was amazing, and I have plenty of samples and inspiration to share with you from that. I was one of only 3 demonstrators from the UK to travel over to the USA for the Live event!
For my second “collection”, I did something I don’t think many of the other Stars will have done – Christmas cards! I could not resist the opportunity to use the beautiful Christmas banner in the new Time of Year hostess set, and I thought it would go wonderfully with the Perfect Pines Framelits Dies:
The snow banks are made from the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies, which coordinate with the Swirly Bird stamp set. (The stamps are far more exciting when you see them used, which I hope to help you with soon!) The snow was cut from the shimmer cardstock to give it some contrast with the base card. I used all three tree sizes of the Perfect Pines, and used the internal die for the middle sized tree, but not the other two. This was mainly a time-saving action on my part, there’s no reason why you couldn’t use the others, and even go for layered trees to get the full effect of the lights die! They really are a lovely set of dies, and I am very glad they have carried over to the new catalogue. As I have done previously, I am aiming to make a few Christmas cards at a time, to build up a lovely collection of different designs by the time December rolls around!
Here’s a gallery of all the cards I made!
Please do leave me a comment to let me know what you think of my cards. For example, I am wondering if some of the Christmas trees in my second collection need a yellow star on top to complete the look? Do let me know your thoughts (but please also be nice!).
I have some commitments over the next couple of weeks (mainly involving my two twins and a beach!) so will not be posting for a bit. Just so you know I have not disappeared again! Now why not head over to visit the lovely Lesley Lendon at Lelly Jellyâs Stamp ân Scrap?
