UPS Delivery of goodies!

Today I thought I would share with you the excitement of a UPS delivery of Stampin’ Up! goodies:

I just managed to catch the delivery van in the background of my photo of the massive pile of boxes he delivered! But there’s actually not that much stuff here – for some reason my one order was split down into 6 – yes SIX! – boxes! All filled with plastic bubbles of air for “protection”!

One of the boxes only contained two items. So that was odd. It also meant I had a lot of plastic bubbles to deal with once I unpacked them all:

Stampin’ Up! are “trialling” these bubbles, instead of the brown paper they used to use, but they are not very popular with the Demonstrators, it has to be said! The paper was recyclable, stamp-friendly, and protected the items pretty well. The new bubbles cannot be stamped upon and used in our projects, it is far more difficult to recycle (and takes ages to flatten and “kill off”, especially compared to the paper) and more people seem to be receiving damaged items in their parcels. So we are definitely hoping they switch back to the paper!

I didn’t actually take a photo of the goodies contained in these boxes, which was rather silly, but it was very exciting as it was new catalogue items for me and some others. It arrived on Friday morning before my Open House so I was very pleased that I culd have the bits there to show people “in real life”. Some things are so much more impressive when you see the product instead of just a picture.

I now have plenty of new Project Life goodies, so I need to be sitting down and crafting with those really soon! I have a couple of birthday cards and four (!) Father’s Day cards to make later, then maybe I can get on with a bit of scrapbooking. I haven’t sent off any photos for printing in *ages* and I really should do that to get those stories scrapped and the memories preserved. We’ve been to Legoland a couple of times recently, as well as visits to family and Telford so I have plenty of stories to choose from!

What stories would you choose to capture with Project Life? There are the obvious things like new babies, weddings, birthdays, etc. but because it is so quick and easy you can also cover “events” such as a six-box UPS delivery, your daily or weekly routine, and the little things in life. Do leave me a comment and tell me what you’d capture!

About Katie

Katie has been crafting for most of her life, but has been an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator since April 2010. Her favourite techniques are rubber stamping, heat embossing and 3D decoupage, mainly applied in card making, but she's also an avid memory keeper! She loves the pocket scrapbooking style as it is quick and easy, and makes memory keeping much more achievable for her than the "traditional" option. She would love to share this with you if you are intrigued!
